Women’s Discipleship Ministry

Word based, Holy Spirit led; where people matter and grow together

WWW – Wise Women Win

Welcome to the Women’s Discipleship Ministry (WDM) at Luton New Testament Church of
God (NTCG) where we are a Holy Spirit God led, thriving, fruitful and productive Ministry
where women are empowered through the word of God. All women are valued and it is my
prayer that we all assume our rightful position as active members of the Women’s
Discipleship Ministry. Matthew 5:16, New King James Version (NKJV) says, Let your light so
shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Through God we must be the light in our homes and our communities.

The Women’s Discipleship Ministry (WDM) aims to encourage and empower women to
flourish in God’s goodness and purpose. The Holy Spirit spoke to me concerning the 3 W’s–
Wise Women Win. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD. 8
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and
will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year
of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8.

Through the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit we then become empowered to be living
vessels of God. God speaks to our spirit through His word, messages, dreams and signs.
We are then able to bring our soul and body under subjection and in alignment with the will
of God for our lives. This will happen through prayer and dedication to God. As a woman you
are valued by God and by me. Through the word of God and His Holy Spirit we are equipped
to maximise our potential. What a mighty God we serve. We know that we can do all things
through Christ that strengthens us. Philippians 4:13.

We have a full programme of events for 2021 which is available on request from
pastor@ntcgluton.org.uk Should you wish to receive a copy of the WDM Aims and
Objectives a copy can also be requested from pastor@ntcgluton.org.uk
I encourage you to let the Lord fight your battles as the battle is not yours. 2 Chronicles
20:15
says, And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou
king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of
this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.

Women you are precious, appreciated, valued, special, victorious, anointed, appointed,
empowered and soaring in the light of the word of God. You are a woman of God, you are a
child of God, you are you and I value YOU!! I am here for you and I love you. We are Word
based, Holy Spirit led; where people matter and grow together. Remain blessed. God is in
control.

Music and Worship Ministry

The Music and Worship Ministry are God ordained to praise and worship God in alignment with His word and with full understanding. Our praise and worship is always in alignment with the word of God. Psalms 134:2 KJV, “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the Lord.” Another scriptural reference is Nehemiah 8:6, KJV, “And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the LORD with their faces to the ground.”

Our praise and worship are powerful weapons of warfare that will cause ambushments to be established against our enemies. 2 Chronicles 20:22, KJV, “And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.” Our praise and worship also causes a supernatural interaction of things being bound in heaven and earth, in alignment with Matthew 18:18-20, KJV, 18. “Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 19. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. 20. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

God desires to bring  all our dreams from imagination to manifestation, as we walk in alignment with scripture, as the answers lie in the word of God. There are many forms of praise. Praise and worship are very important aspects of our relationship with God. God inhabits our praise and we should not be inhibited as we give praise to God. Why? Because our praise glorifies God. The Hebrew language talks about eight words that are synonymous with the English word praise. They show eight ways to worship God, they are: Barak, Towdah, Yadah, Shabach, Zamar, Hallah,  Tehillah and Hallelujah.

We are encouraged to speak and pray into our atmosphere in alignment with Jeremiah 1:12, KJV, “Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.” As we speak and pray the word of God, God will hasten His word to perform it. We all are responsible for speaking and praying into our atmospheres in alignment with the word of God. Our aim as the Music and Worship Ministry is to continue to praise and worship God with intention. We must bring a worship offering of excellence to God in alignment with Daniel 6:3, KJV, “Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit (was) in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.” As members of the kingdom family of God, the instruction that we follow determines the season we create. Follow the LORD’s instruction. It is in His word. God is real. God is able. God is faithful. God is just. God is our audience of one. God is in control.

Guest Services

Each person that comes to our church is our guest. Each man, woman, boy, and girl whether a member or not is given the guest experience and is treated with respect and dignity (Hebrews 13:2, Ephesians 2:10)

Guest services is another term for hospitality. Hospitality can be defined as “the quality or disposition of receiving and treating guests and strangers in a warm, friendly, generous way.”

I lead a team of volunteers that work with me to make our guests feel welcome from the door to their seats, throughout the service and treated with respect and dignity.

I work side by side with the Pastor to ensure our work aligns with the church's vision and values.

Additionally, Lascelles Williams and I are long standing members of the national usher team that support all national NTCG conventions and Conferences. God bless.

Pastoral Care Team

35 I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you gave me a drink; I was a stranger and you received me in your homes, 36 naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me, in prison and you visited me.’… 40 The King will reply, ‘I tell you, whenever you did this for one of the least important of these followers of mine, you did it for me!’ Matthew 25:35-36, 40 GNT

Background

As our church grew it was clear we needed a pastoral care ministry team to support our senior pastor to meet the growing needs of the church community. The Pastoral Care Team emerged under God’s guiding hand. The idea of a pastoral care ministry (PCM) was birthed in 2015, in 2016 further training and studies were pursued and gained. Discussions about having a PCM team started in March 2017, we started with 4 members. On Sunday 9 December 2018, the Luton NTCG PCM Team was officially launched. We currently have 6 members in the team. We developed our mission and vision which supports the main mission and vision of NTCG Luton. We are also members of the Association of Christian Counsellors Pastoral Care UK –

Our Mission

To be a Christian resource for individuals and families in our local church and community in Luton which enables the missional purpose, potential and practice of pastoral care to be developed and practiced.

Our Vision

As disciples of Jesus, to see God’s love, expressed in quality relationships and through pastoral care, supporting, healing and restoring individual lives, families and our community.

What We Do

Pre-COVID 19 Corona Virus pandemic this is the service we offered the NTCG Luton church family.

  • Keep in touch (KIT) (by phone/email/post/social media)

  • Prayer over the phone

  • Hospital visits

  • Nursing home visits

  • Home visits

  • Lord supper at home

  • 1-2-1 pastoral care basic counselling/including signposting

  • Debt advice

  • Prayer meeting in the home

  • Transportation for medical appointments

  • Pick up drug prescriptions

  • Arrange annual workshops for church workers, members and friends of NTCG Luton.

  • Arrange flowers for the bereaved, discharged following an hospital admission, and for new born babies.

How we deliver ministry has had to change during the pandemic. We have conducted “specific needs” family zoom prayer meetings, as we were no longer permitted to go into the home. We made regular calls to our seniors and sick brethren. We also connected to other services such as Secret Angels and the local Fire and Rescue Service, these services delivered food during the first lock down. During the second and third lockdown we conducted a service needs audit, organised zoom socials for our 65 years and over called “We are together again…Young at Heart”. It was noted that this age group were less likely to attend church during the pandemic. The February event we conducted the Lord supper, it was well received by all those who participated.

See below for an example of one of our posters and zoom social.

Looking forward

In 2021 and beyond, we will continue to walk according to the word in Matthew 25:35-36, 40, Galatians 6:5 and Romans 15:2-3. On a practical level, we intend to: -

  • serve as listed above.

  • continue professional development of the PCM Team.

  • recruit new members to the PCM Team family.

  • arrange Zoom socials for the 65 years and above “We are together again…Young at Heart” on a regular basis.

  • prepare to minister to the community outside the church walls in a greater way by working with the local government and other care organisations and groups.

Ambassadors

The Ambassadors team will be a conduit for developing leadership skills and qualities amongst our membership, particularly our emerging leaders. It also forms part of my strategy to grow the church by devolving some appropriate duties and responsibilities.

With this in mind, I present to you S.E.E.K.S. I believe that S.E.E.K.S will provide a guiding principle for the Church but in particular the ‘Ambassadors’ strategy/planning team

S.E.E.K.S (Spiritual, Economic, Education, Kingdom, Social)

At NTCG Luton, we desire that you are equipped to fulfil your destiny.

Spiritual – Teaching is the foundation on which this church is built (Word-based, Holy Spirit led) We believe that the scriptures found in the Holy Bible are God-breathed with authority to instruct believers and bring them to spiritual maturity.

Economic – Creating economic strength through the support and establishment of Christian based businesses and networks. Developing economic stability through job creation, investment learning, entrepreneurship, wealth independence and legacy building. (grow together)

Education – Encouraging our children to excel in their education and to have a ‘no limits’ attitude and approach to what they can attain and achieve. Encouraging our adults to pursue continuing personal development in every area of life. (grow together)

Kingdom – As the ‘called out ones’, representing the Kingdom of God in our civic engagement and contributions. (where people matter)

Social – Impacting and serving the community beyond our four walls. We are to positively impact the world around us. (where people matter)

We desire that people from all walks of life, backgrounds and ethnicities come to know the God of the Bible personally. We desire that people discover their specific purpose and make a positive difference in the world.

A.S.K Prayer Team

Ask | Seek | Knock – Matthew 7 v 7

The biblical ideal is for prayer to be foundational, not peripheral to everything done in and through the church body (see Acts 1:14; 2:42; 4:31; 13:1-3).

A Great Commission Prayer Ministry will help us create a comprehensive church prayer plan that is:

• Bible-based — Built on biblical prayer principles. Each believer must be careful to participate and teach only biblical prayer and activities.

• Sensitive — To meet diverse cultural, social, and spiritual needs.

• Comprehensive — It includes the personal, corporate, and kingdom components of prayer. Prayer begins to permeate the entire life and ministry of each believer, the church, and the community.

• Evangelistic —  focuses our members on prayer that relates to Christ’s redemptive work throughout the world. Our relationship with Christ overflows in compassionate, intentional witness. Believers learn to pray for and share Jesus with every unbeliever in their sphere of influence.

The A.S.K prayer team was launched on the same day as the Pastoral Care Team, Sunday 9th December 2018 and is led by

Youth & Discipleship Ministry

We are moving into a time when we need to engage our children, teenagers, and young adults before the world does. In the society we live in, we must question how many opportunities are available for this generation? Can we rely on the educational system to enhance their faith?

It is up to us to take the initiative to create and cultivate an environment for change, progression, and development in all areas of life. How can the skills and experiences we the ‘ADULTS’ have, be shared or passes down?

WE are responsible for the change WE want to see.

This programme was formulated to Educate, Equip and Encourage God's people through His Word. In Love, in Truth and Mercy.

Here at NTCG Luton, we are ‘Word-based, Holy Spirit led; where people matter and grow together.’ As a Youth Department, we do what we can to embody our mission statement. How will we do this?

Equip- We will provide young people with the resources for their continued progression in Christ. We also aim to prepare our young people to know why they believe what they believe, which will help them to confidently defend and share their faith.

‘Dearly loved friend, I was fully intending to write to you about our amazing salvation we all participate in but felt the need instead to challenge you to vigorously defend and contend for the beliefs that we cherish. For God, through the apostles, has once for all entrusted these truths to his holy believers.’ Jude 1:3 TPT

Encourage- We will give our young people moral and Word-based support, that they may have confident hope to retain upright and Godly living in this present age. ‘ And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God.’ Titus 2:12 NLT

‘Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.’

1 Thessalonians 5:11 NIV

Educate- We will teach our young people how to rightly divide the Word of truth, for then they will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.

‘Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.’ 2 Timothy 2:15 NIV

‘If you do, you will know what it means to fear the LORD and you will succeed in learning about God.’ Proverbs 2:5 GNB
